Hibiscus powder, also known as the ‘Botox’ plant, contains AHA’s and is a must for natural beauty treatments! ⁠That is why it is one of the star ingredients in our pomegranate clay mask. ⁠A quick-drying clay mask that brightens skin (Vit C), micro exfoliates, detoxifies, pore refining and helps skin retain moisture.

Alpha-Hydroxy Acids (AHA) cause the cells of the epidermis (the top layer of the skin) to become “unglued” allowing the dead skin cells to slough off, making room for regrowth of new skin. A great mask to use anytime, but especially before a special occasion to give your skin a porcelain like look and feel with a healthy glow.

Hibiscus Flower Powder:⁠

• Contains Alpha-Hydroxy Acids (AHA), Vitamin C and several organic acids that aid in skin restoration.⁠
• Increases skin elasticity by inhibiting the enzyme elastase. This enzyme is responsible for breaking down our skin’s elastin.⁠
• The organic acids in HP, including citric and mallic acid, assist in evening out skin tone, removing dark spots, age spots and hyper-pigmentation.⁠
• The astringent effect helps to reduce large pores.⁠
• The high mucilage content helps to keep the skin moisturised and supple.
• Natural surfactants called saponins assist in cleansing the skin and in the shedding of dead skin cells.⁠
• Antioxidants help to prevent damage to skin by pollution, increase cell turnover and help to combat acne.⁠

Baobab Powder has a brightening effect on the skin, containing high levels of Vit C. Baobab naturally has anti-inflammatory properties and can reduce redness, itchiness, and dryness both when applied topically.

How to use:
Mix a small amount of the powder with your choice of water, plain yogurt or raw honey in a bowl. Apply with a spatula to face and neck, avoiding the eye area. Leave on until dry and remove with a damp cloth.
